Jean-Pierre Lamic

A real-estate professional with an extensive experience of the French market. I started off as a journalist in the construction and public works specialized press. This led me to commercial real estate from 1975 on, working first within large Paris-based groups such as Jacques BOURDAIS (later to become CBRE RICHARD ELLIS) or AUGUSTE THOUARD, before I decided to spread my own wings.

ALAIN AFFLELOU, MANIATIS, JACQUES DESSANGE, TORRENTE, TED LAPIDUS, BUDDHABAR or EMPORIO ARMANI were among my first clients in the field of real estate transactions. But my passion quickly drove me to the purchase, renovation and resale of real estate products.
I can boast several showcase accomplishments in the best areas of Paris, such as the Sonia RIKIEL boutique on the Boulevard Saint Germain or the acquisition of the Drugstore PUBLICIS, also on the Boulevard Saint Germain. In the latter case I also oversaw the vacation of the premises and the procurement of a building permit before selling the property to the GIORGIO ARMANI group.
Many more building renovations followed thereafter.

When the real-estate market collapsed and Paris prices crashed, times became difficult. In 1999 I decided to take a fresh start, set out to explore emerging markets and fell in love with Morocco.

Ryads Resort Development

The fascinating Imperial city of Marrakech, with its dreamy and thought-provoking atmosphere, was a treasure-trove of opportunities. Luxury tourism was a natural choice in this context. Projects abounded, prices were booming and the race was on to buy, promote and sell. A magnificent 24000m² lot lied waiting between the Medina and the city walls. It had to be that, nothing else would do. The difficulties were many, but at the end of that road I did meet with success.

In partnership with a consortium of architects composed of Christine LAYT ROEFFIAN, Daniel HULAC and Pascal DESPRES, my company RYADS RESORT DEVELOPMENT filed for and obtained a building permit for a 5-star hotel. The LUCIEN BARRIERE Group joined our efforts, and together we made a roaring success of the chain’s first hotel abroad.

Having secured a firm foothold in Morocco, I was able to set up two new companies: Cèdre Finances and Licences Concept.

But we can also produce fresh concepts for hotels, tourist resorts and condominiums, shopping malls or luxury apartment complexes.

Licenses Concept

Licences Concept is a company under Moroccan law fully owned by Cèdre Finances. Its purpose is to manage the commercial use of the licenses and franchises owned by our group. It manages hotel and restaurant business assets, notable among which are the BUDDHA BAR et GEORGE V HOTEL franchises.

This is only the beginning of our journey, but a number of brands have already trusted us to represent them through franchise agreements for Morocco.

Ever since we’ve been active in Marrakech, our choice of projects has always borne witness to our quest for the quintessence of a certain art of life. Theme-based renovation projects, croissanteries, tea parlors, spas, modern art galleries, genuine concept stores and state-of-the-art showrooms are all in preparation.
